The edge of village location secures wonderful views from the terrace which overlooks the Serchio valley, with the river and then the mountains in the distance.The two bedroom property has recently been renovated to a lovely balance of old & new, with log fire and antique furniture blending easily with modern accessories, fitted kitchen, and shower room with large shower cubicle.

There is also a garden, outdoor bread/pizza oven, and a sunbathing terrace with superb views of the surrounding countryside. There is a further 'garden room' located in the cellar which can be used as additional kitchen/dining room for when using garden.
For those wishing to holiday in a larger group there is the possibility of hiring the sister property which has a further 2 bedrooms. This is NOT let separately and is an optional extra for guests of Il Forno , thus guaranteeing privacy and a personal garden which is sometimes passed through by the owners to pick vegetables which they usually share with their guests!
For those who do wish to holiday in a larger party there is plenty of room to all eat together in the 'garden' room.

Poggio is an historic village situated in the hills, some 10 minutes north of Castelnuovo (which itself is circa 45 minutes North of Lucca). This is a quaint historic, rural village with cobbled streets and wonderful views. There are plenty of good restaurants in the area, and the property is a 10-minute walk from a railway station offering access to Lucca, Pisa, Florence and the Coast. Castelnuovo, with its outdoor swimming pool, famous market, and numerous bars restaurants is only 8 kms away.
