A working mill until the 1960's The Mill at Casciana has been beautifully renovated into a comfortable holiday home whilst retaining some of its original features. Indeed the mill wheels can still be viewed in the basement.

The house has stone walls, stone and wooden flooring, and original chestnut beamed ceilings throughout.

The setting is perfect for those looking for peace. There is a real feel of relaxation and peace in the large garden, with the only sound to be heard, the river running at the end of the garden.
The river is particularly pretty at this spot and can be dammed for swimming, one can paddle, and there are plenty of trout If you are a keen fisherman. Very pleasant for walks along the riverside
There is also the swimming pool to enjoy, the spacious garden, the decked patio area, and Far enough away (but not out of sight) in shaded childrens play area.

The Mill House has three floors, one of which is the basement and contains the original Mill workings - this houses the third (twin) bedroom, second bathroom and utility area. This floor is accessed either internally via a ladder style staircase, or externally via a separate entrance.

Please note also for hire on the same site is the Farmhouse at Casciana sleeping 4 plus 4, although this property also has the benefit of its own pool, so whilst the river and play area is shared, the pools and eating areas etc are private.

On the ground floor Large living / dining / kitchen open plan area with comfortable sofas (one of which is a good quality sofa bed), TV, DVD player, open fireplace, hob, microwave, fridge etc. ..

Stairs up to first floor where there are 2 double bedrooms each with an additional bed, and a large shower room. Dont be put off by the three beds in each room - the style is a far cry from the traditional 'family room'
The kitchen leads out to large private eating area / patio overlooking decked garden and pool (8m x 4m), Which is situated close the the river trout behind.
Down ladder style staircase or via separate entrance is the twin room Which holds the original Millstones, and Which leads to the second bathroom and utility area. This room is not suitable for winter use since there is no heating.
There is also a childrens play area with swings, seesaw and slide.
The site is totally enclosed by trees but there is a good level of sunshine - up to 11 hours per day. Very peaceful!
