The villa is situated in a private edge of village location, in the heart of the Garfagnana, 1 hour 15 minutes north of Lucca.

This charming little village has a basic shop, and a village bread van also comes 6 days a week. There is a bar/cafè and some other shops circa 1km away, and Piazza al Serchio, the closest larger village has many shops and amenities, and a few restaurants.

This is a peaceful location, in the midst of the countryside, with many pretty hilltop villages to visit, as well as National Parks. There is the Santuario at Argegna, the lake of Gramalazzo, the fortress of Verrucole, and the property is also ideal for exploring Lunigiana.....

For non local days out, the coast (Lerici and the Cinque Terre) are just over an hour away by car, Lucca is a 90 minute drive, Pisa 1 hr 40 mins and Florence 2 hours or so... The market town of Castelnuovo is a 25 min drive and the beautiful mediaeval town of Barga 40 mins away.....
