Small romantic converted chestnut house with its own large private pool, situated in 6 hectares of organic farmland and chestnut woods.

This newly converted chestnut house has been lovingly restored with a great deal of care and personal attention by the owners

The property has a real romantic feel and is complete with four poster bed!

On the ground floor there is a living area with large windows and arched doorway out to patio, separated  from the kitchen/dining area by a circular working fireplace which sits in the middle of the room and therefore heats the entire floor.

Kitchen has oven, hob, fridge, washine machine… living area has working fireplace, dvd player.

Up the spiral staircase there is a lovely romantic double aspect 4 poster bedroom with doors placed opposite the bed, to take advantage of the wonderful views..

There is also a good sized modern shower room

The outdoor eating area boasts the most fantastic views of the mountains, and is high above Barga which is a beautiful city lit up at night, creating a very romantic place to Eat 'al fresco' and for enjoying those last glasses of wine of the day! The property is located high in the mountains, thus ensuring it is never 'too' hot, and it really feels it is possible to touch the stars at night!

The private 'infinity style' swimming pool (10M x 5M plus roman steps) is high above the house so as not to totally spoil the traditional feel of the property, and to ensure it remains totally out of sight. The view from the pool is wonderful and the style of pool means it feels one is swimming in the mountains

The owners are very keen to share their love of the area, and will be happy to provide for all your needs.

NB:

Not suitable for elderly or affect due to steep Climb to the pool.
Please also note that there are also a couple of resident cats in the grounds - they are tame and friendly. The owners also keep bees, and will no doubt give you some honey. The Hives are away from the house and pool.

There is another house at the property which is rented by an English lady full time. She fully respects the privacy of guests at the chestnut house and will not use the pool which is for exclusive use of guests

The property  is just a 10/15 minute drive up into the hills from the mediaeval town of Barga, with its hilly windy cobbled streets, duomos, 10th Century cathedral and ancient architecture.

Barga is also renowned in the area for its good quality, but reasonably priced restaurants. There are often outdoor concerts/plays performed many times free of charge, usually based on the classics/jazz, and during the festas the town often puts on wonderful firework displays.

Barga itself is circa 1 hour from Pisa, 1 hr 30 mins from Florence; 45 minutes from the walled mediaeval city of Lucca and close to the National Parks of the Apuane Alps.

Hilltop villages abound, and exploring can be either townie or totally rural - the choice is yours.which is famous for its windy cobbled streets, wonderful restaurants, mediaeval architecture, and outdoor concerts.

For airports, Pisa is 1 hr 15 mins, Florence 1 hr 30 mins; Genoa, Bologna and 2.5 hrs each.
