Tuscan Retreats was founded in 2000 with just a single house to offer. We then started to grow steadily as friends in the area asked us to help them. We now have a great selection of villas and cottages, all of which are well known to us, ranging from budget choices, to luxurious villas..
We are avid fans of the Garfagnana area of Northern Tuscany and know this stunning unspoilt region intimately.
Tuscan Retreats is run by me, Lorraine Venturelli, and I was lucky enough to live in the stunning Garfagnana for over 10 years. Whilst I am now based in the UK, luckily I still get to visit Tuscany regularly to work and see family and friends.
I have two trusted colleagues. Mel, who lives in the Garfagnana, has worked with me for 14 years and knows the business and the area inside out, and Remy, a newer addition to the Tuscan Retreats family who brings with him younger blood, and a new perspective.
We also collaborate with our great friend Benito who has his own agency in the Garfagnana. This ensures that we can offer the best properties in the area, share ideas, and be up to date with developments.
Our prices are more competitive than those you will find in holiday brochures or mass rental sites. This is because we work purely on line, and also because we know each of our owners and are able to ensure they provide you with a good value quality holiday home.
Our philosophy is simple - we want to share this dramatic unspoilt landscape with those looking for a different holiday in an area still little touched by tourism. We have taken over 15,000 bookings since inception, and many of our guests return again and again to enjoy this unique region.
We pride ourselves on our personal service, ensuring we know every detail of each holiday home.
We are available before and throughout your stay to answer questions, provide ideas and support. Information is available on each of the homes to help you choose where to stay and we provide a detailed information pack to enable you to make the most of this dramatic and wonderful area.
